Ofelia Martinez Evangelista

Ofelia Martinez Evangelista was born in Mexico City on June 8th 1950 to Hermelinda Evangelista and Cirilo Martinez.  She was the youngest of 13 children and spent most of her childhood in the beautiful country of Mexico. After a while she realized she wanted to move to the United States.
Life was good and became a lot better when she had her beautiful daughters Miroslava and Adriana. Understanding how expensive her daughters could be, she folded up her sleeves and become a strong business woman to provide for her family.   She started working as a seamstress and opened her own upholstery business. But that wasn’t enough for Ofelia, she had bigger aspirations and dreams she needed to follow. So, one day she got up and took her big dreams and aspirations to the United States. Once here she got a career with Frank Stubbs company where she worked most of her life.
Ofelia enjoyed life, having fun, and most important being happy. She loved music and always liked being very fashionably dressed. Even though she worked in the United to send dollars back to Mexico, she needed her daughter with her. So, she went back to Mexico in the eighties to bring her daughter Adriana to the United States and provide her with opportunities so she could have a better life.
In her later years Ofelia became a grandmother to Christina Isabella and Victoria Mello. She ended up getting a new view on life and spent her time helping her neighbors and people in need. She would help people so extremely that she would be out on the streets at 2:00 am and talk to people and helped them to get their lives in order.
As time passed, she was overjoyed when her granddaughter Victoria surprised her with her 1st great grandson Edgar. The surprises continued when the birth of her 4th granddaughter Madeline, whom she found great joy in taking care of. She loved dancing, playing, and teaching her Spanish.
Ofelia is greatly loved and is dearly missed by her friends and family. They will miss her caring advice, tough love, and overwhelming support.
