Pedro Devora, conocido con cariño por muchos como Peter, partió de este mundo demasiado pronto el 28 de junio de 2026, falleciendo en su ciudad natal de Northridge, California, a la edad de 28 años. Nació el 1 de octubre de 1997 en Northridge y, desde el primer día de su vida, fue una persona brillante e inolvidable: un hijo, hermano, compañero de vida y padre cuyo espíritu llenaba de calidez, alegría y amor a todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Hablar de Pedro es recordar su contagioso sentido del humor, su generosidad y una personalidad que iluminaba cualquier lugar al que llegaba. Su entusiasmo por la vida era contagioso; con frecuencia era considerado el alma de la fiesta, siempre con una amplia sonrisa capaz de alegrar hasta los momentos más difíciles. Sus familiares y amigos recuerdan con cariño la energía que transmitía en cada reunión: cómo disfrutaba de la música, el baile y las risas, combinando bromas llenas de picardía con un cariño sincero. Tenía un espíritu juguetón que hacía inolvidable cada momento. Entre las anécdotas que más hace sonreír a su familia está aquella ocasión en que su hermana se disfrazó de gorila y logró darle el susto de su vida. Y, fiel a su gran sentido del humor, también decía entre risas que él era el más guapo de toda la familia.

Pedro amaba profundamente sus raíces y siempre permaneció muy unido a su familia. Le sobreviven su madre, Ma. De Jesús Gallardo Ramírez, y su padre, Pedro Devora Santa Cruz, a quienes amó con todo su corazón. También deja a sus hermanos Erika Valenzuela, Erika Noemí Argumedo Gallardo, César Manuel Argumedo Gallardo y Óscar Daniel Devora, quienes conservan innumerables recuerdos llenos de cariño. Entre ellos, recuerdan cuando Erika regresaba cansada de la escuela y descansaba sus pies sobre el vientre de Pedro, o aquella ocasión en México cuando una silla se rompió debajo de él y toda la familia terminó riendo sin parar.

Quizá donde más brilló su amor fue en la familia que formó junto al gran amor de su vida, Alondra Lara, y su adorada hija, Dalilah Devora. Pedro expresaba su amor de una manera tierna y divertida. Uno de los recuerdos más especiales para su familia fue el día en que sostuvo a Dalilah en lo alto, tal como Rafiki levantó a Simba en El Rey León, un momento que hoy permanece como una historia entrañable para todos. Fue un padre dedicado, fuerte y lleno de ternura, especialmente durante los momentos difíciles en que Dalilah tuvo que permanecer hospitalizada. Nunca dejó de estar a su lado. Para Pedro, su mayor logro no era material, sino el inmenso privilegio de compartir la vida con las personas que más amaba.

La fortaleza de Pedro ante la adversidad fue verdaderamente admirable. No mucho tiempo atrás enfrentó una etapa difícil de desempleo, sintiendo que había tocado fondo. Sin embargo, fiel a su carácter, jamás permitió que las dificultades definieran quién era. Con perseverancia, esfuerzo y el mismo sentido del humor que lo caracterizaba, logró salir adelante, consiguió un trabajo del cual se sentía profundamente orgulloso y celebró ese importante logro al estilo de Pedro: estrenando su nueva camioneta.

Pedro también dejó una huella profunda en la vida de muchas personas fuera de su círculo familiar. Cultivó amistades sinceras y siempre estaba dispuesto a ayudar a quien lo necesitara. Era una persona detallista y cuidadosa en todo lo que hacía, a veces insistiendo en que todo estuviera exactamente como debía estar, aportando orden y dedicación a cada espacio donde se encontraba. Ya fuera ayudando a organizar, limpiando o animando cualquier celebración, su amor por la vida y por quienes lo rodeaban siempre era evidente.

Como amante de los animales, compartió innumerables momentos de alegría con su querido perro Ozzie, con quien disfrutaba bailar, jugar y convivir. En esa relación reflejaba el mismo entusiasmo, ternura y amor que demostraba hacia todas las personas que formaban parte de su vida.

Pedro será profundamente extrañado, pero su memoria permanecerá como una bendición para todos los que lo conocieron y amaron.

Quienes deseen honrar su vida están cordialmente invitados a acompañar a la familia en la Velación, que se llevará a cabo el 6 de agosto de 2026, de 5:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., en Amor Eterno Funerals (Encino Banquet and Garden / Saint Mary's Church), ubicado en 5955 Lindley Avenue, Tarzana, California.

La Misa de Cuerpo Presente se celebrará el 7 de agosto de 2026, a las 11:00 a.m., en St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, ubicada en 18115 Sherman Way, Los Angeles, California.

Posteriormente se realizará el Sepelio, el mismo 7 de agosto, de 1:00 p.m. a 2:00 p.m., en Glen Haven and Shalom Memorial Park, ubicado en 13017 Lopez Canyon Road, Sylmar, California.

La historia de Pedro es una historia de alegría, fortaleza, generosidad y amor. Aunque nuestros corazones sienten profundamente su partida, encontramos consuelo en los recuerdos que nos deja: momentos llenos de risas, amor y enseñanzas que permanecerán para siempre. Pedro Devora, fondly known as Peter to many who loved him, left us far too soon on June 28, 2026, passing away in his hometown of Northridge, California at the age of 28. Born on October 1, 1997 in Northridge, Pedro was a bright and unforgettable presence from the very beginning—a son, brother, partner, and father whose spirit brought warmth, laughter, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

To speak of Pedro is to remember his infectious sense of humor, his generosity, and a personality that could light up any room he entered. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he was often considered the life of the party, always wearing a broad smile that could brighten even the most difficult moments. Family and friends fondly remember the energy he brought to every gathering—how he delighted in music, dancing, and laughter, effortlessly blending playful teasing with genuine affection. He had a fun-loving spirit that made every moment unforgettable. One of the family stories that still brings smiles is the time his sister dressed up in a gorilla costume and scared the daylights out of him. And, true to his wonderful sense of humor, he would jokingly insist that he was the best-looking member of the family.

Pedro cherished his roots deeply and remained inseparably close to his family. He is survived by his mother, Ma. De Jesus Gallardo Ramirez, and his father, Pedro Devora Santa Cruz, each of whom he loved dearly. His siblings—Erika Valenzuela, Erika Noemi Argumedo Gallardo, Cesar Manuel Argumedo Gallardo, and Oscar Daniel Devora—carry with them countless fond memories, like Erika coming home from school to rest her tired feet on Pedro’s belly, and the shared laughter in Mexico, when a chair gave way beneath him and the whole family was sent into fits of laughter.

His love was perhaps most powerfully expressed within his own small family—Alondra Lara, the love of his life, and their cherished daughter, Dalilah Devora. Pedro’s devotion shone especially bright in the tender, playful way he welcomed Dalilah into the world—holding her aloft just as Rafiki did Simba in “The Lion King,” a memory that is now a treasured family story. He was a steadfast, nurturing presence through every trial, never wavering, especially when Dalilah faced difficult times in the hospital. His greatest accomplishment, as he saw it, was the simple but profound joy of sharing life with those he loved most.

Pedro’s resilience in adversity was remarkable. Not long ago, he faced a challenging period of unemployment, feeling as though he had hit rock bottom. Yet, true to form, he refused to let setbacks define him. Through tenacity, hard work, and that irrepressible sense of humor, Pedro rebuilt his stability—landing a job he was proud of and celebrating the achievement in true Pedro style with his new truck.

He touched the lives of many outside his immediate family, forming deep bonds with friends and always being ready to help anyone in need. He was meticulous in his passions, sometimes insisting everything be just so, bringing both order and care to the spaces he inhabited. Whether cleaning up or leading the festivities, Pedro’s love for life and those around him was unmistakable.

A devoted pet parent, he shared many joyous moments dancing and playing with his dog, Ozzie, showing the same exuberance and love that marked all of his relationships—human or otherwise.

Pedro will be profoundly missed, but his memory is an enduring blessing for all who loved him. Those wishing to honor his life are invited to attend a Velacion (Visitation) on August 6, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Amor Eterno Funerals (Encino Banquet and Garden / Saint Mary’s Church), located at 5955 Lindley Avenue, Tarzana, CA. A Misa Funebre (Funeral Mass) will be held on August 7, 2026, at 11:00 am at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 18115 Sherman Way, Los Angeles, CA. The Entierro (Burial) will follow on August 7 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Glen Haven And Shalom Memorial Park, 13017 Lopez Canyon Road, Sylmar, CA.

Pedro’s story is one of joy, resilience, generosity, and love. Though our hearts ache with his loss, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind—hilarious, heartfelt, and endlessly cherished. Pedro Devora’s legacy endures in every laugh shared, every act of care remembered, and in the enduring light he brought to all our lives.
