Listen to Obituary

Balbino Sagastizado was a man of strength, love, and unwavering resilience. He passed leaving behind a legacy shaped by his deep passions and devotion to his family.

He loved the ocean and studied marine biology, finding peace especially at Cuco beach in El Salvador. He enjoyed life’s simple joys—barbecuing, caring for his yard, his furry grandchildren, cruising through Topanga Canyon, listening to music, and watching Lilo & Stitch and The Grinch every Christmas. He also loved the mountains and dreamed of one day owning a cabin there. Above all, he loved his family—his wife, daughter, parents, and sister—with his whole heart.

Balbino was one of the toughest men imaginable. He endured dozens of surgeries but never stopped fighting, working hard every day and never backing down. He was a hero and role model, remembered for his strength and his example to never give up.

He was everything to those who loved him and will be deeply missed.
